The educational seminar ‘Metaphysical Explorations: Experiments from Pictorial Space to Digital Space’ will be held on 10 December 2024, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The event is organised as part of the courses in Architectural Design and Representation and Architectural Models and Representation for the academic year 2024–2025 and is coordinated by Prof. Francesca Picchio and Dr. Francesca Galasso of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The seminar is held in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano and the Università degli Studi “G. d’Annunzio” Chieti – Pescara and is aimed at students who want to explore the process of converting paintings into digital spatial models.

This event aims to stimulate creative and interdisciplinary dialogue between the artistic and technical disciplines, promoting the integration of different skills and visions. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience provided by qualified lecturers and researchers in the field of architectural design and the use of digital technologies, the seminar aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the capabilities of the latter in reinterpreting art and designing in a virtual environment.

The event is part of the recognised activities for the Thesis Laboratory of the Degree Course in Building Engineering and Architecture at the University of Pavia.
