CV Kseniia Mezenina
Kseniia Mezenina was born on the 2nd of January in 1989 in Perm, Russia. In 2007 she graduated from the humanitarian and mathematical lyceum №1 in Perm. In 2007 was admitted for the specialist programme at the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where in 2013 she completed her studies in the major Design of the architectural environment, having received the qualification of Architect-designer. With distinction she defended a diploma project with a title Green Riverside Park in Kama valley in Perm developed under the supervision of prof. arch. Andrey Zhukovskiy and prof. arch. Marina Popova. The project received the Highest Level Diploma at the International competition of architectural theses, held in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2013.
In July 2013 K.O. Mezenina was admitted to the Master’s program in Urban Design of the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Faculty of Construction at Perm National Research Polytechnic University. In January of 2014 she was included in the international research group working on the grant of the governor of Perm Krai Optimization and assessment of risks of spatial distribution of housing and civil and industrial facilities under different scenarios for the development of the resettlement system and within the framework she published several articles. During Master’s studies she participated in the European project for the documentation and survey of the authentic architectural environment of Karelia Wooden Architecture. Traditional Karelian Timber Architecture and Landscape, 2014 and took part in other national and international conferences, exhibitions, competitions, workshops and seminars. From March to April 2015, she worked on a part of the thesis at the joint laboratory of University of Florence and University of Pavia. In May 2015 with distinction she defended a thesis on a topic Preservation of the historical and architectural complex of Usolye by the means of architectural survey, developed under the guidance of Dr. Arch., prof. Sandro Parrinello, University of Pavia.
In October 2016, Kseniia Mezenina enrolled in Ph.D. course in Urban Studies in Perm National Research Polytechnic University. The topic of the scientific research is Documentation of architectural heritage with information technology application elaborated under the supervision of Doctor of Technical Sciences, prof. Svetlana Maksimova. She was the organizer, the curator and the head of the project group of the International Summer School for the documentation and preservation of the built heritage of Upper Kama Region in the Urals Vanishing Heritage of the Kama Region: Usolye in cooperation with University of Pavia, Italy (Usolye, Russia), 2015 and 2016.
In 2017 she won a 6-month scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy to elaborate a part of a doctorate research at the DAda lab, University of Pavia.
