Münire Rumeysa Çakan
She is a PhD student at Kocaeli University, Department of Architecture. She is studying her doctoral thesis on “Preservation Problems of Rural Architecture in Archaeological Sites”. In 2019, she completed her master’s degree from Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University with the thesis “Conservation and Sustainability of Rural Architecture in Iznik Hisardere Village”. She has been a lecturer at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University since 2019. She teaches courses on architectural drawing, heritage conservation, and restoration. She researches within the framework of the heritage of rural communities. She takes part in national and international projects for the documentation and conservation of archaeological and vernacular architecture. The Phoenix Archeology Project and Iznik Turkish Period Surveys are ongoing projects.
