Donatella Bontempi
Born in Brescia in 1981. She graduated with honors in 2000 at the State Scientific High School “Annibale Calini” of Brescia with artistic direction. She attended the triennal and masterclass Degree in Architecture at University of Parma.
Her research activity in the field of Drawing developed during the thesis “Torre delle Acque Complex in Colorno. Hypothesis of recovery of hydraulic engineering products at the pole for the landscape and cultural enhancement of the Bassa Parmense” with tutor Prof. Michela Rossi, in which she deepened the study of the formal elements of green environment in association with architecture.
During the three years of Research Doctorate, carried out within the XXIII cycle at the same university, her interest in botany was deepened in relation to its formal and symbolic meanings. She obtained the title of PhD in Shapes and Structures of Architecture with SSD ICAR/17 Drawing in 2011, with a thesis entitled Landscapes of Memory. Funeral botany in the Villetta cemetery in Parma, tutor Prof. Michela Rossi.
Subsequently, she was a member of the research unit of INDACO Department of Milan Polytechnic, headed by prof. Rossi, in PRIN 2008 Descriptive geometry and digital representation and PRIN 2010 Architectural perspectives, coordinator prof. Migliari.
Even before graduation, she began continuously teaching activities in the area of ​​Drawing. After several years as expert of the subject in drawing and surveying courses in Parma and Milan, she was, from the academic year 11/12 till 14/15, contract professor of Instruments and techniques of drawing. and from the academic year 11/12 to 16/17 she is lecturer in Architectural Survey and Representation at the Schools of Design and Architecture and Society of Milan Polytechnic, for which she coordinated the organization of seminars and relevant teaching campaigns.
For the year 2017/18, she is a contract professor of Drawing and Graphic Documentation Basis at the Study Course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage activated by the Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage of University of Pavia.
Since April 2014, she is research fellow on the theme “Survey and representation for urban regeneration“, tutor prof. Giandebiaggi, and she collaborates within various initiatives carried out with Parma research group, such as the organization of seminars and conventions, architectural surveys and analysis on urban and territorial scale, paying attention to the issue of disuse, in the agro-industrial and commercial sectors.
Recently she was interested, following as supervisor the thesis of Master Degree in Architecture, Curriculum Project and protection of built heritage, School AUIC, Polytechnic of Milan, “The sand castle on the sea. Surveying, analysis and representation of R. Bibbiani’s Skyscraper in La Spezia” to the new digital technologies of augmented reality, photogrammetric survey applications, digital representation and edutainment for cultural heritage.
These activities are complemented by participations and publications in conferences, books and journals, with main topics the presentation of educational projects, the scope of the project in teaching and research, the topics of the thesis, the doctoral agreement and the research grant.
