Giulia Porcheddu
Student in the PhD programme in Design, Modeling and Simulation in Engineering, cycle XXXVIII, at the University of Pavia. In July 2022 she graduated in Building Engineering and Architecture with a thesis in the field of Architectural Surveying and Representation, supervisor Prof. Sandro Parrinello, entitled “Documenting a rescue archaeological excavation. Surveys and information systems for archiving knowledge’. Her research concerns the definition of methodologies for the construction of 3D databases useful for the creation of documentation plans for the knowledge and development of the historical/architectural heritage, with a focus on the management of sites of archaeological interest. From 2017 to 2019, she took part in the international exchange programme “Dual Master Degree in Building Engineering and Architecture” with the School of Architecture of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University in Shanghai (China). Since A.A. 2016/2017, she has collaborated as a tutor in research and teaching activities for the courses “Drawing of Architecture” and “Survey and Representation of Architecture”. Since 2015 she has been collaborating in national and international projects organised by the research laboratory DAda-LAB – Drawing Architecture DocumentAction, deepening her knowledge of the use of Lidar, static and mobile terrestrial laser scanners (SLAM) and SfM close range photogrammetric survey, also conducted through UAV systems, for the preservation of cultural heritage.
